Cardiac Surgery Technique

Cardiac surgery techniques are operative methods used to diagnose, repair, or replace structures of the heart and great vessels, helping treat conditions that medication or catheter-based procedures cannot adequately address. Depending on the problem, surgeons may open the chest, temporarily support circulation with cardiopulmonary bypass, and repair tissue, restore blood flow, or implant prosthetic material while protecting the heart and other organs. These techniques are applied in coronary artery disease, valve disorders, congenital heart defects, and aortic disease, and their refinement has improved surgical precision, patient safety, recovery, and long-term cardiovascular outcomes.
