Air-supported Ball

An air-supported ball is a lightweight spherical platform suspended on a cushion of air, allowing an animal to move with minimal mechanical friction while remaining in place. Airflow through a perforated base supports the ball, and the animal’s movements rotate it in response to sensory or experimental stimuli; optical or electronic tracking records locomotion, direction, and speed. In neuroscience, this setup enables controlled studies of motor behavior, sensorimotor integration, navigation, and neural activity during movement. By combining near-free locomotion with precise behavioral measurement, the apparatus helps researchers relate brain function to coordinated actions in virtual or laboratory environments.

Developing Neuron Balls Using a Hanging Drop Culture Technique

2025

This video demonstrates the process of generating neuron balls using a hanging drop culture technique. Within the hanging drops, cells move towards the bottom, self-assembled into three-dimensional structures forming neuron balls, which can be used for neurobiological studies.

2017

A convenient method for the synthesis of 2 nm supported bimetallic nanoparticle Pt-Cu catalysts for propane dehydrogenation is reported here. In situ synchrotron X-ray techniques allow for the determination of the catalyst structure, which is typically unobtainable using laboratory instruments.

2025

Self-help support groups are voluntary, community-based organizations that provide a platform for individuals with shared concerns to exchange support, insights, and practical strategies for coping with life challenges. Typically led by group members or paraprofessionals, these groups form a cornerstone of mental health care, especially in reaching populations that are underserved by traditional healthcare systems. Accessibility and Cost-Effectiveness One of the primary strengths of self-help...
