Ra Level Quantification

Ra level quantification is the measurement of access resistance, or the electrical resistance between a patch-clamped neuron and the recording pipette, which indicates the quality and stability of whole-cell recordings. It is typically calculated from the response to a small voltage step or brief test pulse using Ohm’s law, with the measured current revealing resistance in the recording pathway. Monitoring Ra during an experiment helps identify inadequate membrane access, pipette blockage, seal deterioration, or recording drift. In neuroscience, this quality-control measure supports reliable measurements of membrane currents, synaptic activity, and neuronal excitability while enabling researchers to exclude compromised recordings.

Here we present a method for directly measuring transfer RNA charging levels from purified Escherichia coli RNA as well as a way to compare relative levels of transfer RNA, or any other short RNA, across different samples based on the addition of spike-in cells expressing a reference gene.

Quantification of Immune Mediator Levels in Human Mucosal Lining Fluid

This protocol describes a noninvasive technique for the sampling of undisturbed mucosal lining fluid from the upper airways. It can be used to perform the quantification of in vivo levels of protein mediators, such as cytokines and chemokines, in subjects of all ages.

Electrochemiluminescence Assay for Quantification of Target Protein Levels in Brain Lysate

2025

In this video, we demonstrate the electrochemiluminescence immunoassay for the quantitation of target protein levels in different samples. This assay is based on the luminescence produced in the electrochemical reaction. The intensity of light emitted is proportional to the quantity of the target protein in the sample.
