User Satisfaction

User satisfaction is an individual’s overall evaluation of an experience, product, service, or outcome, shaped by whether it meets personal expectations and needs. In neuroscience, satisfaction reflects interactions among reward processing, emotional state, attention, and memory, as the brain compares anticipated outcomes with actual results and updates future preferences through feedback. Researchers assess these responses using behavioral ratings, decision-making tasks, and measures of neural activity to examine how value and motivation influence behavior. This framework supports research on consumer decision-making, human-computer interaction, patient experience, and disorders involving altered reward sensitivity, providing insight into how subjective judgments arise from brain function.
