Zno Nanoparticles

ZnO nanoparticles are nanoscale particles of zinc oxide, an inorganic semiconductor whose size-dependent optical, electrical, and surface properties make it valuable in engineering. At dimensions typically below 100 nanometers, their increased surface-area-to-volume ratio and quantum confinement can alter light absorption and charge behavior; under ultraviolet illumination, photogenerated electron-hole pairs can drive reactive oxygen species formation for photocatalytic and antimicrobial activity. Engineers incorporate ZnO nanoparticles into sensors, coatings, photocatalysts, optoelectronic devices, and reinforced nanocomposites, where their tunable conductivity, ultraviolet response, and chemical reactivity support environmental remediation, surface protection, and functional materials design.
