Repeated Multiplication

Repeated multiplication is the process of multiplying the same number by itself multiple times, providing the foundation for exponents and powers in mathematics. In the expression aⁿ, the base a is used as a factor n times, so aⁿ = a × a × ... × a; the exponent indicates the number of factors, while special cases such as a¹ and a⁰ follow defined rules. This concept simplifies calculations involving growth, area, volume, scientific notation, and algebraic expressions. It also supports more advanced ideas, including exponential functions, logarithms, geometric sequences, and mathematical modeling of repeated change.

Repeated games are scenarios where the same game is played multiple times by the same participants. These games are fundamental in understanding how decision-making processes evolve over time. Finitely Repeated Games: These games occur a specific number of times. Consider two software firms that are in competition, releasing updates to their software every quarter. Each quarter, these firms must decide on their strategic approach: they can either invest heavily in developing innovative new...
