Post Procedure Care

Post-procedure care is the organized monitoring and support provided after a medical intervention to promote recovery, manage symptoms, and identify complications early. It typically involves assessing vital signs, pain, wound or treatment sites, mobility, hydration, and medication effects while following procedure-specific instructions for activity, nutrition, and follow-up. Patients and care teams use these measures to recognize warning signs such as infection, bleeding, impaired healing, or unexpected changes in function and respond promptly. Effective post-procedure care improves comfort, supports safe recovery, reduces preventable complications, and helps determine when patients can resume normal activities or require additional medical evaluation.
