その後、乾燥した滅菌医療用ガーゼを使用して、腹部から余分なアルコールを取り除きます。次に、皮膚を切開します。ピンセットを使用して、腹部の中央にある腹直筋を持ち上げ、正中線に沿って小さな切開を行います。
切開部の上縁が胸骨の剣状突起から6〜8ミリメートル、下縁が外性器から6〜8ミリメートルであることを確認します。次に、腹部切開の両側に通常の生理食塩水で予め湿らせたガーゼを置きます。切開部の上端と下端に止血鉗子でガーゼを固定して露出させます。

そして、膵臓に触れないように、胃の2センチ前まで生理食塩水で湿らせた綿棒で腸を取り出します。膵頭十二指腸靭帯の近位端から回盲領域の遠位端まで腸を伸ばします。次に、小さな出血スポットが現れるまで、近位から遠位まで小腸全体に沿って5分間一定の圧力をかけます。
その後、事前に湿らせた綿棒を使用して、すべての小腸を慎重に腹腔に戻します。次に、ガーゼと腹壁全体で腹部を3〜5秒間優しくマッサージして、正常な腸の位置を確保し、手術後の閉塞やねじれを防ぎます。次に、腹腔内に100マイクロリットルの生理食塩水を注入して、失われた体液を補充し、腹部組織を滑らかにします。
次に、ガーゼを取り外し、腹部切開部で2層の閉鎖を行います。縫合後、腹部切開部付近を乾燥した滅菌医療用ガーゼで優しく拭き取り、血液、組織液、生理食塩水から乾燥して清潔に保ちます。手術後の裂け目を避けるために、切開部とその周囲に少量の医療用切開接着剤を塗布します。
接着剤が乾いたら、マウスを摂氏37.5度の加熱した毛布の上に置き、マウスが完全に回復するまでマウスを監視します。
