해당 그라데이션 곡선은 연속적인 부드러운 곡선으로, 광범위한 입자 크기를 나타냅니다.
대부분의 응집체가 특정 체를 통과하고 다음 미세한 체에 유지되면 입자가 주로 동일한 크기임을 의미합니다.
이것은 균일하거나 한 크기의 등급이 매겨진 집계를 나타내며, 그라데이션 곡선에서 거의 수직선으로 표시됩니다.
골재는 거의 동일한 골재 분획이 크기가 상당히 다른 두 개의 서로 다른 체를 통과하는 경우 갭 등급이 매겨지며, 이는 중간 크기 범위에 응집체가 없음을 나타내며 그라데이션 곡선에서 수평선으로 표시됩니다.

 잘 등급화된 골재에는 최소한의 공극이 있는 조밀한 매트릭스를 만들기 위해 함께 맞춰지는 필요한 크기 분율의 전체 범위가 포함되며, 이는 매끄럽고 연속적인 등급 곡선으로 표현됩니다. 이러한 유형의 등급은 콘크리트에 대한 우수한 작업성과 안정성을 보장합니다.


 대조적으로, 단일 크기 또는 균일 등급화된 골재는 주로 동일한 크기의 입자로 구성되며, 이는 거의 수직인 등급 곡선에서 분명합니다. 이러한 골재는 우수한 투과성을 제공하지만 안정성이 부족하며 일반적으로 포장 도로의 칩 씰과 같은 특정 응용 분야에 사용됩니다.

Types of Aggregate Grading

Aggregate grading describes the particle size distribution in a sample of aggregate. It is important for making a concrete mix that has enough strength, reasonable workability, and minimal segregation. The right grading also helps concrete stay economical.

There are four main types of aggregate gradation: well-graded, uniformly graded, gap-graded, and open-graded. Each type has a different pattern on a gradation curve, which shows how particle sizes are spread across sieve sizes. These patterns help explain how the aggregate will behave in concrete or other uses.

Well-graded aggregate contains a full range of particle sizes. The sizes fit together to form a dense matrix with minimal voids, and the gradation curve is smooth and continuous. This type of grading gives good workability and stability.

Uniformly graded, or one-sized, aggregate is made mostly of particles of the same size. Its gradation curve is nearly vertical. This type allows good permeability, but it does not provide much stability. It is used in specific applications such as chip seals in pavements.

Gap-graded aggregate is missing certain size fractions. As a result, a large amount of material may pass through two very different sieves, and the gradation curve shows a nearly horizontal section where sizes are missing. Because intermediate sizes are absent, this type can create stability problems in concrete.

Open-graded aggregate is missing the smaller sizes that would fill the spaces between larger particles. Its gradation curve is flat and shows very low values in the small size range. Open-graded aggregate is highly permeable, but it has reduced stability.
