Cd47 Peptide Immobilization

CD47 peptide immobilization is the process of anchoring peptides derived from the cell-surface protein CD47 onto a biomaterial or engineered interface to reproduce its cell-protective signaling. By covalently coupling the peptide to a surface and controlling its density, orientation, and accessibility, the immobilized ligand can interact with signal regulatory protein alpha (SIRPα) on immune cells and reduce recognition or phagocytic clearance. In bioengineering, this strategy supports the design of biomaterials, nanoparticles, and cell-based constructs with improved biocompatibility and persistence. It also provides a tunable platform for studying cell-material interactions and developing immune-evasive therapeutic systems.
