Lung Cancer Cells

Lung cancer cells are abnormal cells in the lung that acquire genetic and epigenetic changes allowing uncontrolled growth, tissue invasion, and, in some cases, metastasis. These changes can disrupt cell-cycle regulation, apoptosis, DNA repair, and signaling pathways that normally balance proliferation and tissue maintenance; tumors may arise as non-small cell or small cell lung cancer. Researchers study lung cancer cells in patient samples, cell cultures, organoids, and animal models to examine tumor biology, identify biomarkers, and test targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and combination treatments. This work supports earlier diagnosis, treatment selection, resistance monitoring, and the development of more effective cancer interventions.

2026

Here we present thoracoscopic extended sleeve lobectomy, an applicable procedure for patients with centrally located non-small-cell lung cancer that exceeds an anatomic lobe and improves the probability of complete resection while preserving respiratory capacity.

Adenocarcinoma Engraftment: A Method to Implant Cancer Cells into the Murine Lungs

2023

This video describes a method to engraft lung adenocarcinoma cells in murine lungs by preconditioning the airways with fibrosis-inducing agent–bleomycin. This method significantly enhances orthotopic engraftment of lung cancer cells into murine...

Radiosensitivity of Cancer Stem Cells in Lung Cancer Cell Lines
