Slot-die Coating

Slot-die coating is a solution-processing technique that deposits a controlled, continuous film of liquid onto a moving substrate, making it important for producing uniform functional layers with minimal material waste. In the coating head, liquid is metered through a narrow slot while substrate motion, flow rate, solution viscosity, surface tension, and drying conditions govern wet-film thickness and stability; the solvent then evaporates to form the final coating. In chemistry and materials research, slot-die coating supports scalable fabrication of polymer films, organic electronics, perovskite layers, batteries, and other thin-film devices, linking formulation design and fluid behavior to reproducible device performance and manufacturing.

Kubler Ross's Stages of Dying

2025

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross significantly advanced psychology's understanding of the process of dying with her influential book, On Death and Dying (1969). She focused on studying terminally ill individuals and outlined five stages commonly experienced when coping with death: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. In denial, individuals reject the reality of their condition, often thinking, "This isn't true; I feel fine," as a way to protect themselves from emotional distress. Anger...

A simple slot blot method was developed for the quantification of influenza viral hemagglutinin and neuraminidase using universal antibodies targeting their most conserved sequences identified through bioinformatics analyses. This innovative approach may provide a useful alternative to quantitative determination of all viral hemagglutinin and neuraminidase.
