Image Processing Program

An image processing program is software that transforms, analyzes, and quantifies digital images, making visual information more consistent and measurable in developmental biology. It works by applying computational operations such as noise reduction, contrast adjustment, segmentation, and feature extraction to distinguish biological structures from the background and measure properties such as size, shape, position, or intensity. Researchers use these tools to analyze embryos, tissues, and developing organisms over time, compare experimental conditions, and relate changes in cellular or anatomical patterns to developmental processes. Reproducible image analysis can reduce subjective scoring and support larger, more quantitative studies.
