Ai Literacy

AI literacy is the knowledge and practical ability to understand, use, evaluate, and communicate about artificial intelligence, making it important for informed decisions in science and society. It involves recognizing how data, algorithms, and models produce outputs, checking those outputs against evidence, and considering uncertainty, bias, privacy, and computational costs. In environmental research and management, AI literacy helps learners and professionals interpret remote-sensing analyses, organize ecological data, support climate modeling, and assess tools used to monitor biodiversity or pollution. Strong AI literacy can improve collaboration between domain experts and computational specialists while promoting responsible AI use and attention to its energy and environmental impacts.
