High Throughput Measurement

High Throughput Measurement refers to methods that rapidly quantify biological features across many samples or experimental conditions, enabling systematic analysis at a scale that conventional assays cannot provide. These approaches combine parallelized workflows with automation, miniaturized assays, multiplexed detection, and computational processing to collect and compare large datasets efficiently. In immunology and infection research, they can measure immune-cell responses, antibody or cytokine production, pathogen growth, and treatment effects across diverse samples. The resulting data support biomarker identification, host-pathogen studies, drug screening, and analysis of response variability, helping researchers connect complex immune measurements with disease mechanisms and clinical outcomes.

2013

Measurement of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is the gold standard for kidney function assessment. Here we describe a high-throughput method which allows the determination of GFR in conscious mice by using a single bolus injection, determination of fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-inulin in plasma and calculation of GFR by a two-phase exponential decay model.
