Fairness Offers

Fairness offers are proposed divisions of money or other resources used to examine how people judge equitable treatment and respond to social decisions. In bargaining tasks, one participant makes an offer and another evaluates it, often accepting or rejecting the allocation; researchers can compare behavior with measures of brain activity, decision value, reward processing, and responses to norm violations. In neuroscience, these tasks help clarify how the brain integrates self-interest, expectations, social norms, and emotional reactions during interpersonal choice. Findings support research on cooperation, conflict, trust, and the neural basis of economic and social behavior.
