Block Removal Experiment

A block removal experiment is a psychological research procedure that tests how performance or behavior changes when a defined block of trials, stimuli, training, or task conditions is omitted from an experimental sequence. Researchers organize observations into comparable blocks, remove one block while holding other conditions as constant as possible, and compare outcomes with those from an intact sequence or control condition. This design can help identify effects linked to practice, fatigue, learning, memory, order, or exposure rather than to the task itself. In psychology, block removal experiments support the analysis of behavioral mechanisms and improve interpretation of sequential experimental data.

2012

In this study, we describe an improved protocol for a multiplexed high-throughput antibody microarray with lectin detection method that can be used in glycosylation profiling of specific proteins. This protocol features new reliable reagents and significantly reduces the time, cost, and lab equipment requirements as compared to the previous procedure.

Block Diagram Reduction

2024

The process of deriving the transfer function of a control system often involves reducing its block diagram to a single block. This simplification can be achieved through a series of strategic operations, including relocating branch points and comparators. These operations preserve the overall function of the system while allowing for easier manipulation and combination of blocks. The first step in this process is the identification and relocation of a branch point. A branch point, where a...
