Dr. Andréa Fuzimoto is a clinician and researcher working with Holistic Integrative Medicine (HIM) and Traditional Medicines (TMs) applied to neurological and immunological conditions. She holds a Doctoral Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) with a concentration in Pain Medicine and Women’s Health, and a master’s degree in Science, in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM). She is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM^®), Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.), and she also has a background as a Physical Therapist (PT). Her areas of specialization include Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist (MSCS), Acupuncture-Herbal Medicine Specialist, Certified Neuro-Scalp Acupuncture Specialist (CSCS), Auricular Acupuncture Board Certified, Auricular Medicine Certified, and Certified Medical Qi Gong instructor. With an extensive and diverse background in the areas of Integrative, Traditional, and Complementary Medicines, she also serves as a certified peer reviewer, providing expert peer-review to different journals in this field. Her research interests revolve around the effects of herbal medicine, acupuncture, and nutrition on neurodegenerative, autoimmune, and infectious diseases. Her approach to researching these conditions include not only looking at them from the perspective of classical traditional medicines as well as investigating through molecular biology and immunology mechanistic point of view.
