Abigail Lytton-Jean is the visionary and core director of the Nanotechnology Materials Lab at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT. Her lab addresses nano and materials characterization of bio-relevant materials with a strong emphasis on cryo electron microscopy. Of particular significance are the sample preparation and cryo workflows that make possible correlation between light and electron microscopy. This allows for the orchestration of multiscale imaging of a group of cells or tissue while providing pinpoint accuracy of desired regions with nanometer and subnanometer resolution. Dr Lytton-Jean's background is founded in bio and nanomaterials research. She conducted her graduate studies with Professor Chad Mirkin at Northwestern University and her postdoctoral work with Professors Robert Langer and Daniel Anderson at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
