Dr. Jane Leopold is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a clinical interventional cardiologist and Director of the Women’s Interventional Cardiology Health Initiative at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is an internationally recognized vascular biology researcher with expertise in vascular phenotyping using omics methodologies. She has developed and led basic, translational, and clinical programs aimed at understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiopulmonary vascular disease. The longstanding focus of her translational research laboratory has been to elucidate the mechanisms by which vascular structure and function are regulated under basal conditions and in disease states using next generation technologies with an eye towards devising novel diagnostics and therapeutics. She has written and presented on a wide range of omics methodologies and cardiopulmonary vascular disease. She is a former Associate Editor of the journal Circulation, is a member of several editorial boards, and study sections. In addition, she actively mentors and promotes the work of students, fellows, and early career faculty in cardiopulmonary vascular research.
