Dr. Cristiano Spadaccio is a cardiothoracic surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA, and holds an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Glasgow at the Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences, UK. He graduated as a medical doctor at the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome in 2006. He obtained and completed postdoctoral training and a Ph.D. degree at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery and at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine where he was dedicated to stem cell differentiation and tissue engineering application in cardiovascular science.

In addition to translational research, he is focused on clinical research and several aspects of cardiac surgery including aortic, mitral, and coronary surgery.

His scientific and clinical activity is testified by over 160 peer-reviewed articles and participation in international grants while he serves as a reviewer and editor for both clinical and biomedical journals.
