Dr. Wei Yang is an associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center. He received his BS degree from Wuhan University (China), and MS degree from The Institute of Microbiology (Chinese Academy of Science), and PhD degree from the University of Rostock (Germany). For more than 16 years, his research has focused on brain injury after ischemic stroke and cardiac arrest. His laboratory uses a wide spectrum of approaches for both basic and translational brain ischemia research. These include molecular and immunologic methods, functional imaging, mouse genetic tools, and behavioral testing.
