Dr. Song Lei graduated from Jilin University with PhD and MD in 2014. He is currently a deputy chief physician of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, the First Hospital of Jilin University, serving as the deputy director of the department. Dr. Song has long been devoted to the clinical and basic research of respiratory system infection and immunity, focusing on critical respiratory pathogens such as Legionella pneumophila, Coxiella burnetii, etc., to explore the biochemical and cellular biological mechanisms of bacterial virulence proteins interfering with host cell function. Focusing on the direction of pulmonary inflammation and infection, Dr. Song has published 23 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author in the past five years, including original publications on PNAS, eLife, and mBio. He has been invited to write comments and reviews for journals such as Molecular Cell, EMBO Reports, Journal of Cell Biology, and Journal of Nanotechnology.
