Dr. Marco Biagi is 43 years old and was born in Siena, Italy. He graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies and received a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Siena in 2011. He was an adjunct professor at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and he currently works at the University of Siena as a researcher where he also teaches a class on Pharmaceutical Botany. He is also the Director of the II level post-lauream Master in Applied Phytotherapy at the University of Siena. His research interests cover many aspects of medicinal plants, from botany and phytochemistry to pharmacology. The current topics he mainly works on are natural products for gastro-protection, herbal drugs with immunomodulatory activity, and skin aging and healing.
