Professor Pan obtained his PhD in Environmental Science at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003. That year he joined the Institute of Nuclear Energy of Tsinghua University as a postdoc researcher. In 2005, he worked as an associate professor at State Key Lab of Environmental Geochemistry, Institute of Geochemistry, CAS and was promoted to the rank of Full Professor in 2007. Thereafter, he was approved as a CAS 100-talent plan distinguished professor at Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography. In 2016, he was named the leading scientist of the 10,000-talent plan of China. Currently, he serves as a full professor and director at College of Environment, Zhejiang University of Technology. His research interests include microplastic pollution, ecotoxicology of emerging pollutants, and remediation of contaminated soil and water. In recent years, Prof. Pan has directed over twenty projects, including 2 projects under 863 and 973 Programs, 1 key NSFC-XJ project, and 1 National Key R&D Project. He has also chaired national and international conferences in environmental chemistry. More than 160 of his SCI papers were published in international journals. He also serves as either editorial board member or guest editor for many international journals, including Science of the Total Environment.
