Prof. Tobias Kollmann completed his MD and PhD at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, USA, followed by a Pediatrics residency and an Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Washington, USA. He then served as division head for pediatric infectious diseases at the University of British Columbia, Canada, before taking on the director's position in systems vaccinology at Telethon Kids Institute in Perth, Australia.
Currently, Dr. Kollmann is a Professor of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. He is the CEO of the Born Strong Initiative (https://www.born-strong.org/), a global network of experts working to reduce adverse pregnancy outcomes. His expertise centers around immune ontogeny and maternal and early-life vaccine responses, employing cutting-edge technology and analytics to extract maximum information from small, obtainable biological samples.
