Dr. Piyasena is a public health ophthalmologist from Sri Lanka. He has experience in clinical ophthalmology, including vitreoretinal surgery, eye health research, evidence synthesis, and health policy review. He has a special interest in developing and validating effective screening strategies for diabetic retinopathy using hand-held digital retinal imaging integrated with artificial intelligence.
