Hdl Particle Labeling

HDL particle labeling is a biochemical method for attaching detectable tags to high-density lipoprotein particles so their movement, composition, and interactions can be measured. Labels may be introduced into HDL lipids or apolipoproteins using fluorescent, radioactive, or other tracer chemistries, followed by purification to separate labeled particles from unbound reagent and verification that particle integrity is preserved. Researchers use labeled HDL to quantify cellular uptake, follow lipid and cholesterol transport, examine receptor-mediated interactions, and measure particle clearance in experimental systems. These measurements connect HDL structure and metabolism with cardiovascular and other disease-related mechanisms.

Subatomic Particles

Dalton was only partially correct about the particles that make up matter. All matter is composed of atoms, and atoms are composed of three smaller subatomic particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons. These three particles account for the mass and the charge of an atom. The Discovery of the Electron The first clue about the subatomic structure came at the end of the 19th century when J.J. Thomson discovered the electron using a cathode ray tube. This apparatus consisted of a sealed glass...
