Fsc-pmt

FSC-PMT refers to a flow cytometry detector configuration that uses a photomultiplier tube to measure forward-scattered light from cells or particles. As a laser illuminates each event in a fluid stream, light scattered in the forward direction reaches the detector, where the photomultiplier tube converts photons into an amplified electrical signal; signal intensity generally correlates with particle size and optical properties. FSC-PMT measurements help distinguish cells from debris, define cell populations, and support multiparameter analysis alongside fluorescence signals and side-scatter data. This parameter is useful in immunophenotyping, cell-cycle studies, microbial analysis, and quality control of biological samples.

Rapid fluctuations in extracellular dopamine (DA) mediate both reward processing and motivated behavior in mammals. This manuscript describes the combined use of fast scan cyclic voltammetry (FSCV) and intra-oral tastant administration to determine how tastants alter rapid dopamine release in awake, freely moving rats.
