Sequential Icp Aes

Sequential ICP-AES, or sequential inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, is an elemental analysis technique that identifies and measures multiple chemical elements in a sample. The sample is introduced as an aerosol into an argon plasma, where extreme temperatures atomize and excite its constituents; as excited atoms return to lower energy states, they emit element-specific wavelengths that a spectrometer measures one after another. This sequential measurement provides qualitative and quantitative information across a broad range of elements. In chemistry, the method supports analysis of solutions, environmental samples, geological materials, and industrial products, helping researchers determine composition, monitor contaminants, and assess material quality.

Sequential Games

2025

Sequential games involve players making decisions one after another, with each player considering the prior decisions of other players before deciding their own strategy. The order of these decisions is crucial, as each decision influences subsequent ones, affecting the overall outcome. Decision trees are valuable tools in illustrating these games, helping visualize each possible decision and its consequences, allowing players to anticipate and plan strategies effectively. Consider two coffee...

Sequential Game: Backward Induction

2025

Backward induction is a technique for solving sequential games. It involves analyzing the game starting from the end and working backwards to the beginning. This method helps players determine their best strategies by anticipating how others will react at each stage of the game, ultimately leading to the Nash equilibrium. Imagine two beverage companies, FreshFizz and CoolBrew, deciding whether to enter a new market. FreshFizz moves first and must choose to enter or stay out. If FreshFizz...

Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS): Interferences

2024

Inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (ICP–MS) is a highly selective and sensitive technique for accurate elemental analysis. Though the analysis of ICP–MS mass spectra is comparatively straightforward, it is affected by spectroscopic and non-spectroscopic interferences. Spectroscopic interferences arise when the plasma contains ionic species with an m/z value the same as the analyte ion. Spectroscopic interference can be categorized as isobaric, polyatomic ions, and refractory oxide ion...

2014

A microfluidic vortex assisted electroporation platform was developed for sequential delivery of multiple molecules into identical cell populations with precise and independent dosage control. The system’s size based target cell purification step preceding electroporation aided to enhance molecular delivery efficiency and processed cell viability.

Inductively Coupled Plasma–Mass Spectrometry (ICP–MS): Overview

2024

In inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (ICP–MS), an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) torch is used as an atomizer and ionizer. Solid samples are dissolved and volatilized before being introduced into the high-temperature argon plasma, while solution samples are nebulized and passed through the high-temperature argon plasma. Plasma dissociates the analytes and ionizes their component atoms to form a mixture of positive ions and molecular species. The positive ions are then passed on to...
