Transport Bag Labeling

Transport bag labeling is the process of identifying and documenting specimens, medications, supplies, or other clinical materials placed in bags for movement between healthcare locations. Labels typically connect the bag and its contents to required information, such as patient or specimen identifiers, destination, handling conditions, and time-sensitive instructions, supporting accurate tracking during transport. Consistent labeling helps clinical staff verify items at handoff, maintain chain-of-custody records, protect specimen integrity, and reduce risks from misidentification or improper handling. In hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, and medical logistics, standardized labels support safer workflows, regulatory compliance, and timely patient care.

2026

All animal procedures described here must be conducted in accordance with institutional animal ethics guidelines and approved by IACUC. All procedures must follow the principles of the 3Rs—Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement—and must be performed by trained personnel. Transporting rodents for research requires procedures that minimize stress and maintain animal welfare during movement to minimize the influence on experimental outcomes. Transport cages should provide adequate ventilation,...

We present a simple and efficient protocol for the generation of human macrophages. Buffy coats are processed by double density gradient centrifugation and isolated monocytes are then differentiated to macrophages in Teflon-coated cell culture bags. This maximizes macrophage yields and facilitates cell harvesting for subsequent experiments.

Regulated mRNA Transport

2020

In eukaryotes, transcription and translation are compartmentalized; an mRNA is first synthesized in the nucleus and then selectively transported to the cytoplasm for protein synthesis. Before transport, a pre-mRNA undergoes several steps of post-transcriptional modifications including splicing, 5' capping, and the addition of a poly-adenine tail. Various proteins bind to the pre-mRNA during these modifications. The mRNA transport takes place with the help of multiple proteins playing specific...
