Fluorescence Conjugated Antibodies

Fluorescence-conjugated antibodies are antibodies chemically linked to fluorescent dyes, enabling researchers to locate and measure specific antigens in cells, tissues, or biological samples. The antibody binds its target through antigen–antibody recognition, while the attached fluorophore emits light at a characteristic wavelength after excitation, producing a detectable signal. In immunology and infection research, these reagents support immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and diagnostic assays for identifying pathogens, immune-cell populations, and changes in protein expression. Multiplexed fluorophores can reveal several targets simultaneously, improving spatial analysis and quantitative characterization of host–pathogen interactions.

Evaluating the Intracellular Distribution of Virus-Derived Peptide-Modified Antibody Conjugates

2025

This video demonstrates the process of assessing the intracellular distribution of virus-derived peptide-modified antibody conjugates using confocal microscopy. The viral-derived nuclear localization sequence directs antibody-conjugates within the cytoplasm, confirmed through immunostaining and fluorescence measurement.

Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay to Verify Chemically-Coupled Antibody-Antigen Conjugates

This video demonstrates the detection of chemically conjugated antibody-antigen complexes via the sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, or ELISA, technique. The captured antibody binds to the specific epitope of the antigen of the antibody-antigen conjugate, which can be later visualized using an enzyme-linked secondary antibody.

Here, we present a procedure to fluorescently functionalize the disulfides on Qβ VLP with dibromomaleimide. We describe Qβ expression and purification, the synthesis of dibromomaleimide-functionalized molecules, and the conjugation reaction between dibromomaleimide and Qβ. The resulting yellow fluorescent conjugated particle can be used as a fluorescence probe inside cells.
