Ebus-tbna Protocol

The EBUS-TBNA protocol is a minimally invasive procedure that combines endobronchial ultrasound with transbronchial needle aspiration to sample lymph nodes and masses near the airways, supporting diagnosis and staging while reducing the need for surgical biopsy. During bronchoscopy, an ultrasound probe identifies mediastinal or hilar targets in real time, and a needle passes through the bronchial wall to collect cellular or tissue material for cytological, histological, microbiological, or molecular analysis. Clinicians use EBUS-TBNA primarily to evaluate suspected lung cancer and other thoracic diseases, helping guide treatment decisions and improve the accuracy of mediastinal assessment.

Neutrophils are among the first cells to arrive on the site of inflammatory immune response, and their functions and mechanisms have been studied extensively in vitro. We demonstrate a standard density gradient separation method to isolate human neutrophils from whole blood using commercially available separation media.
