Electromyographic Recordings

Electromyographic recordings are measurements of the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles, providing a noninvasive or minimally invasive view of neuromuscular function in medicine. Surface electrodes or fine-wire electrodes detect voltage changes generated by motor unit action potentials, while amplification and signal processing reveal patterns in muscle activation, timing, and recruitment. Clinicians use these recordings alongside physical examination and nerve studies to evaluate disorders affecting muscles, peripheral nerves, and motor neurons. They also support rehabilitation by tracking recovery and guiding therapy, and contribute to research on movement control, assistive devices, and prosthetic limb operation.

Data Reporting and Recording

2023

Reporting and recording are crucial in data documentation. The timely, thorough, and accurate documentation of facts is essential when recording patient data. Failure to record findings during an assessment or interpretation of a problem will result in loss of information and make the patient document unreliable. The reader is left with general impressions if the information is not specific. A recording is documenting data of the individual's health information in a traceable, secure, and...
