Transonic Inc

Transonic Inc is a biomedical technology company that develops instruments for measuring blood flow and fluid movement in medical research and clinical care. Its systems commonly use transit-time ultrasound, in which acoustic signals travel through a vessel or fluid path and the difference in travel time between upstream and downstream directions is converted into a flow measurement. These measurements provide quantitative information about hemodynamics without requiring dyes or direct collection of the fluid. Transonic technologies support cardiovascular research, surgical assessment, organ and tissue perfusion studies, and dialysis monitoring, helping researchers and clinicians evaluate circulation, treatment performance, and physiological changes.

2011

Large animal models have good translational values in the examination of physiology and pharmacology of neonatal asphyxia. Using newborn piglets, we develop an experimental protocol to simulate neonatal asphyxia which has advantages of studying the systemic and regional hemodynamics, oxygen transport with biochemical and pathologic pathways and correlations.

Flow Visualization in a Water Tunnel: Observing the Leading-edge Vortex Over a Delta Wing

2023

Source: Jose Roberto Moreto, Gustaaf Jacobs and Xiaofeng Liu, Department of Aerospace Engineering, San Diego State University, San Diego, California The delta wing, shown in Figure 1D, is a popular design in high-speed airplanes due to its superb performance in transonic and supersonic flight regimes. This type of wing has a small aspect ratio and high sweep angle, which reduces drag at high subsonic, transonic and supersonic flight regimes. The aspect ratio is defined as the wing span divided...

Schlieren Imaging: A Technique to Visualize Supersonic Flow Features

The speed of sound is the speed at which a sound wave propagates through a medium, which is 343 m/s. Mach numbers are used to gauge the flight speed of an object relative to the speed of sound. An object...

2013

TruTip is a simple nucleic acid extraction technology whereby a porous, monolithic binding matrix is inserted into a pipette tip. Consequently, the sample preparation format is compatible with most liquid handling instruments, and can be used for many medium to high-throughput clinical applications and sample types.
