3d Digitizer Measurement

3D digitizer measurement is a technique for recording the three-dimensional coordinates of physical points, allowing researchers to quantify spatial relationships in neuroscience experiments. A digitizer tracks a probe or stylus within a calibrated reference frame and converts each landmark’s position into numerical x, y, and z coordinates, which can then be mapped, compared, or reconstructed computationally. In neuroscience, these measurements support the documentation of anatomical landmarks, electrode or sensor placement, head and body geometry, and other experimental features that require precise spatial registration. The resulting coordinate data improve reproducibility, enable alignment across subjects or imaging systems, and help verify the accuracy of procedures.

We demonstrate controlled pattern transformation of swelling gel tubes by elastic instability. A simple projection micro stereo-lithography setup is built using an off-the-shelf digital data projector to fabricate three-dimensional polymeric structures in a layer-by-layer fashion. Swelling hydrogel tubes under mechanical constraint display various circumferential buckling modes depending on dimension.

We propose a methodology that enables measuring engagement of spectators in a social digital game combining physiological and self-reported data. As this digital game involves a group of freely moving people, the experience is filmed using a synchronizing technique that links physiological data with events in the game.
