Mindfulness Training

Mindfulness training is a structured practice that develops nonjudgmental awareness of present-moment experiences, including thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and surroundings. It typically uses focused attention on the breath or another chosen stimulus, followed by noticing distractions and gently redirecting attention, while cultivating an accepting attitude toward ongoing experience. In psychology, mindfulness training supports the study and management of attention, emotion regulation, stress, and patterns of thought. Programs may be delivered through guided meditation, body scans, mindful movement, and everyday awareness exercises, providing researchers and practitioners with tools for investigating psychological well-being and designing behavioral interventions.
