Types Of Superconductors

Kiedy magnes trwały jest umieszczony na dowolnym materiale nadprzewodzącym, magnes zostaje odpychany i lewituje w stabilnej pozycji dzięki efektowi Meissnera. Nadprzewodniki są klasyfikowane jako grupy typu I i typu II na podstawie ich zachowania i charakterystyki.
Nadprzewodniki typu I działają jak przewodniki, gdy pracują w temperaturze pokojowej. Jednak po schłodzeniu poniżej temperatury krytycznej ruch molekularny wewnątrz substancji jest zmniejszony, co pozwala na jak najbardziej swobodny przepływ prądu.
Zazwyczaj składają się z czystych metali, takich jak rtęć,, aluminium, ołów itp., i są w pełni posłuszne efektowi Meissnera, a jednocześnie mają niskie krytyczne pole magnetyczne.
Nadprzewodniki typu II wykazują fazę pośrednią o mieszanych właściwościach zwykłych i nadprzewodzących w temperaturach pośrednich i polach powyżej faz nadprzewodzących.
Zazwyczaj zawierają pierwiastkowy niob, wanad, technet i stopy metali lub złożone tlenki.
Nadprzewodniki typu II częściowo podlegają efektowi Meissnera i mają dwa krytyczne pola magnetyczne.

rodzaje nadprzewodników

Nadprzewodnik to substancja, która stawia zerowy opór prądowi elektrycznemu, gdy jego temperatura spadnie poniżej wartości krytycznej. Zerowy opór nie jest jedynym interesującym zjawiskiem, gdy materiały osiągają temperaturę przejścia. Drugim efektem jest wykluczenie pól magnetycznych. Nazywa się to efektem Meissnera. Lekki magnes trwały umieszczony nad próbką nadprzewodnika będzie lewitował w stabilnej pozycji nad nadprzewodnikiem. Opracowano pociągi dużych prędkości, które lewitują na silnych magnesach nadprzewodzących, co eliminuje tarcie zwykle występujące między pociągiem a torami. 3 kwietnia 1997 r. oficjalnie otwarto linię testową Yamanashi Maglev w Japonii, a w kwietniu 2015 r. pojazd testowy MLX01 osiągnął prędkość 574 mil na godzinę dzięki silnym magnesom nadprzewodzącym.

Nadprzewodniki można podzielić na nadprzewodniki typu I i typu II.

Trzydzieści czystych metali wykazuje zerową rezystywność poniżej ich temperatury krytycznej i wykazuje efekt Meissnera, właściwość wykluczania pól magnetycznych z wnętrza nadprzewodnika, gdy nadprzewodnik ma temperaturę poniżej temperatury krytycznej. Metale te nazywane są nadprzewodnikami typu I. Nadprzewodnictwo występuje tylko poniżej ich temperatur krytycznych i poniżej krytycznego natężenia pola magnetycznego. Nadprzewodniki typu I mają ograniczone zastosowania praktyczne, ponieważ siła krytycznego pola magnetycznego potrzebnego do zniszczenia nadprzewodnictwa jest dość niska.

Superconductors are materials that can carry electric current with zero resistance when they are cooled below a critical temperature. At this point, they also show the Meissner effect, which means they push magnetic fields out of their interior. A light permanent magnet can then levitate in a stable position above the superconducting sample.

This magnetic levitation has real uses. High-speed trains have been built with strong superconducting magnets so they can float above the track and avoid friction. The Yamanashi Maglev test line in Japan opened on April 3, 1997. In April 2015, the MLX01 test vehicle reached 374 mph using strong superconducting magnets.

Superconductors are grouped into Type I and Type II superconductors. Type I superconductors are about thirty pure metals that show zero resistivity below their critical temperature and also display the Meissner effect. They work only below their critical temperature and below a critical magnetic field strength. Because that critical magnetic field is low, Type I superconductors have limited practical use.

Type II superconductors can stay superconducting in much higher magnetic fields. They can also carry much higher current densities while remaining in the superconducting state. Many ceramic superconductors that contain barium-copper-oxide fall into this group. These materials often have much higher critical temperatures, so they are often called high-temperature superconductors.
