Microfluidic Holder

A microfluidic holder is a mechanical interface that secures a microfluidic chip while connecting its channels to external fluidic, optical, or electrical systems. It works by aligning the chip with inlet and outlet ports, applying controlled compression or clamping to create leak-resistant seals, and maintaining stable positioning during fluid flow or measurement. In bioengineering, holders support cell culture platforms, organ-on-chip devices, diagnostic assays, and tissue-engineering systems by enabling reliable sample loading, perfusion, and observation. Their design influences device sterility, handling, flow stability, and compatibility with microscopy or sensors, making them important for reproducible experiments and translation of microfluidic technologies.
