Peptide Suspension

Peptide suspension is a liquid formulation in which peptide material is dispersed as fine particles rather than fully dissolved, a format that can influence stability, handling, and biological delivery. Its behavior depends on particle dispersion, solvent composition, pH, ionic strength, and agitation, which affect aggregation, sedimentation, and the release of peptide into solution. In cancer research, peptide suspensions support the preparation and evaluation of tumor-associated antigens, vaccine candidates, and peptide-based therapeutics in laboratory studies. Characterizing suspension stability and peptide availability helps researchers improve experimental reproducibility and assess how formulation conditions may affect immune recognition or anticancer activity.

The tail-suspension test is validated as an experimental procedure to assess antidepressant efficacy of drug treatments in mice. Mice are suspended by their tails for six minutes and escape-related behaviors are assessed. We describe procedures used in conducting the tail suspension test.

Immunoaffinity Based Extraction of Ubiquitinylated Peptides: A Technique to Selectively Extract Ubiquitin Tagged Peptides from Purified Peptide Fractions

2023

This video describes a method to extract and purify ubiquitinylated peptides containing remnant di-glycine peptides from a complex peptide mixture. The presented method may help in identifying original ubiquitination sites in the protein.

Infecting Flies with Bacterial Suspension Using a Nanoinjector

This video demonstrates the nano-injection of bacterial suspension into the fly body cavity, resulting in bacterial multiplication and infection. The fly's immune response clears some bacteria, while others escape immune clearance and survive within the host causing an infection.

Peptide Purification: An RP-HPLC-based Technique to Extract Peptides from Digested Protein Lysates

2023

In this video, we demonstrate reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography to purify peptides from a digested protein lysate mixture. These purified peptides are then lyophilized and stored for downstream applications. Analysis of peptides can help understand the mechanics involved in cellular signaling and cancer.
