Stat Maker Program

The Stat Maker Program is a software tool for analyzing experimental data, helping researchers evaluate whether observed genetic results agree with expected patterns. It works by organizing count-based observations, comparing them with predicted values, and applying statistical calculations such as chi-square analysis to estimate whether differences are likely due to chance. In genetics, the program can support studies of inheritance, segregation ratios, and trait transmission by converting raw results into interpretable statistical evidence. By simplifying routine calculations and reducing arithmetic errors, Stat Maker helps students and researchers assess hypotheses and communicate conclusions more efficiently.

Tandem splicing events occur at sites less than 12 nucleotides apart. Quantifying ratios of such splice variants is feasible using an absolute quantitative PCR approach. This manuscript describes how splice variants of the gene STAT3, in which two splicing events results in Serine-701 inclusion/exclusion and α/β C-termini, can be quantified.

Programmed electrical stimulation provides the ability to determine conduction properties of the heart, and the possibility to induce and terminate cardiac arrhythmias using various pacing protocols. Using a transvenous catheter, intracardiac electrogram recordings can be obtained in mice following programmed electrical stimulation protocols to identify arrhythmogenic substrates.
