Anatomical Fracture Location

Anatomical fracture location identifies the specific bone and region affected by a break, providing a standardized way to describe skeletal injuries in medicine. A fracture develops when applied force exceeds bone strength, and clinicians localize it using anatomical landmarks such as the shaft, metaphysis, epiphysis, or adjacent joint; imaging reveals displacement, angulation, and joint involvement. Accurate localization supports diagnosis, fracture classification, treatment selection, and prognosis. It also helps clinicians anticipate damage to nearby nerves, blood vessels, and growth plates, while enabling consistent communication in patient records, research, and orthopedic education.

Quantitative measurement of bone progenitor function in fracture healing requires high resolution serial imaging technology. Here, protocols are provided for using intravital microscopy and osteo-lineage tracking to sequentially image and quantify the migration, proliferation and differentiation of endogenous osteogenic stem/progenitor cells in the process of repairing bone fracture.

Development of a Novel Internal Fixation Model for Rat Radial Fractures: Fracture Healing Assessment and Dorsal Root Ganglion Isolation

2026

The study innovatively combines sutures and titanium needles for stable internal fixation in a rat radial fracture model. Fracture healing was assessed via micro-computed tomography (micro-CT), and primary dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons were isolated and cultured for further investigation.

A Method for Studying the Temperature Dependence of Dynamic Fracture and Fragmentation
