Information Grouping

Information grouping is the organization of separate pieces of information into meaningful units, a cognitive process that helps people manage attention, memory, and decision-making. In psychology, grouping works by identifying shared features, relationships, or patterns and combining related items into categories or “chunks,” reducing the apparent complexity of incoming information and supporting efficient retrieval. Researchers study how factors such as prior knowledge, context, and perceptual similarity influence these groupings. The concept informs research on working memory, learning, language comprehension, and problem-solving, while also guiding educational strategies and the design of interfaces that present information in clearer, more usable structures.

While previous research on bodily self-consciousness assumed that self- and other-origin movements were perceptually distinguishable, this protocol allows them to be ambiguous on a virtual hand with unintentional slight movements. This enables us to observe one’s experience formed by SoO and other-produced SoA, rather than the absence of SoA.

This study compares relational and non-relational (NoSQL) standardized medical information systems. The computational complexity of the response times of querying such database management systems (DBMS) is computed using doubling-sized databases. These results help the discussion of the appropriateness of each database approach to different scenarios and problems.
