Overflaten fabrikasjon metoder for mønstret deponering av nanometer tykk børster eller mikron tykk, krysskoblet filmer av en azlactone blokk co polymer rapporteres. Kritisk eksperimentelle trinn, representant resultater og begrensningene for hver metode diskuteres. Disse metodene er nyttige for å lage funksjonelle grensesnitt med skreddersydd fysiske funksjoner og tunable overflaten reaktivitet.
I dette papiret, fabrikasjon metoder som genererer romanen flater med den azlactone-baserte blokk co polymer, poly (glycidyl methacrylate) –blokk– poly (vinyl dimethyl azlactone) (PGMA –b– PVDMA), presenteres. På grunn av den høye reaktivitet av azlactone mot Amin, thiol og hydroksyl grupper, kan PGMA –b– PVDMA overflater endres med sekundær molekyler å lage kjemisk eller biologisk functionalized grensesnitt for en rekke applikasjoner. Tidligere rapporter om mønstret PGMAb– PVDMA grensesnitt har brukt tradisjonelle ovenfra og ned mønstre teknikker som genererer ikke-uniform filmer og dårlig kontrollert bakgrunn kjemikalier. Her beskriver vi tilpasset mønstre teknikker som nøyaktig deponering av svært ensartet PGMA –b– PVDMA filmer i bakgrunner som er kjemisk inert eller som har biomolecule frastøtende egenskaper. Disse metodene er viktigere, utformet innskudd PGMA –b– PVDMA filmer på en måte som helt bevarer azlactone funksjonalitet gjennom hvert. Mønstret filmene godt kontrollerte tykkelser som tilsvarer polymer børster (~ 90 nm) eller svært krysskoblet strukturer (~ 1-10 μm). Pensel mønstre genereres ved hjelp av enten parylene lift-off eller grensesnitt regissert montering metoder beskrevet og er nyttig for presis modulering av samlet kjemiske overflaten reaktivitet ved å justere enten PGMA –b– PVDMA mønster tetthet eller lengden på VDMA blokken. Derimot tykke, krysskoblet PGMA –b– PVDMA mønstre er hentet ved hjelp av tilpassede Utskriftsteknikk som mikro-kontakt og tilbyr nytte av høyere lasting eller fangst av sekundær materiale på grunn av høyere areal til volum prosenter. Utvikle fabrikasjon teknikker som tillater for allsidig og presis kontroll av kjemiske og biologiske overflaten funksjonalitet er ønskelig for en rekke applikasjoner, fra fangst av miljøgifter til utvikling av neste generasjon biosensors, implantater og vev engineering enheter1,2. Funksjonell polymerer er utmerket materiale for tuning overflateegenskaper gjennom “pode fra” eller “pode å” teknikker3. Disse metodene tillater kontroll over overflaten reaktivitet basert på kjemiske funksjonaliteten til monomer og molekylvekt av polymer4,5,6. Azlactone-baserte polymerer har vært intenst undersøkt i denne sammenheng som azlactone grupper raskt par med forskjellige nucleophiles i ring-åpning reaksjoner. Dette inkluderer primære aminer, alkoholer, thiols og hydrazine grupper, derved skaffer en allsidig rute for ytterligere overflate functionalization7,8. Azlactone-baserte polymer filmer har vært ansatt i ulike miljø og biologisk programmer inkludert analytt fange9,10, celle kultur6,11og anti-fouling / anti-lim belegg12. Mange biologiske programmer er mønstre azlactone polymer filmer på nano til mikrometer lengde skalaer ønskelig å lette romlige kontroll over biomolecule presentasjon, mobilnettet interaksjoner, eller å modulere overflaten interaksjoner13, 14,15,16,17,18. Fabrikasjon metoder bør derfor bygges for å tilby høy mønster ensartethet og godt kontrollerte filmen tykkelse, uten at kjemiske funksjonalitet19.
Nylig utviklet Lokitz et al. en PGMA –b– PVDMA blokk kopolymer som var i stand til å manipulere overflaten reaktivitet. PGMA blokker par oksid rentebærende overflater, gir høy og tunable overflaten tettheter av azlactone grupper20. Tidligere brukt rapporterte metoder for mønstre dette polymer for etableringen av biofunctional grensesnitt tradisjonell topp-ned klima og jordsmonn tilnærminger som genererte ikke-uniform polymer filmer med bakgrunn områder forurenset med gjenværende photoresist materiale, forårsaker høye nivåer av ikke-spesifikk kjemiske og biologiske interaksjoner21,22,23. Her, forårsaket forsøk på å passivate bakgrunn regioner kryssreaksjon med azlactone grupper, akkord polymer reaktivitet. Vurderer disse begrensningene vi nylig utviklet teknikker for mønstre pensel (~ 90 nm) eller svært krysskoblet (~ 1-10 μm) filmer av PGMA –b– PVDMA i kjemisk eller biologisk inert bakgrunner på en måte som helt bevarer kjemiske funksjonaliteten til polymer24. Dette presenterte metoder benytter parylene lift-off grensesnitt-rettet montering (IDA) og egendefinerte microcontact utskrift (μCP) teknikker. Svært detaljerte eksperimentelle metoder for disse mønstre tilnærminger, samt kritiske filmen karakterisering og utfordringer og begrensninger forbundet med hver teknikk presenteres her i skriftlig og video format.
Denne artikkelen presenterer tre tilnærminger til mønster PGMA –b– PVDMA, hver med sitt sett med fordeler og ulemper. Metoden parylene lift-off er en allsidig metode for mønstre blokk co polymerer på micro nanoskala oppløsning, og har vært brukt som deponering maske i andre mønstre systemer33,34,35.
