Role Experimentation

Role experimentation is a psychological process in which people try out alternative social roles, behaviors, or ways of responding to understand how these patterns affect their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Through role-play, behavioral rehearsal, or guided reflection, individuals temporarily adopt a different perspective, receive feedback, and compare the results with their usual responses. In psychology, this approach can clarify how social expectations and personal beliefs influence behavior while supporting self-awareness and adaptive change. Researchers and practitioners use role experimentation to study identity, interpersonal dynamics, communication, and therapeutic behavior change in controlled or real-world settings.

Introducing Experimental Agents into the Mouse

2023

Many investigations performed in mice (Mus musculus) require the administration of an experimental agent to the animal. For example, it may be of interest to test the efficacy of a specific therapy, to induce a pathologic condition, or to administer anesthesia or palliative care. In order to ensure safe and efficient delivery, it is important to consider a variety of factors prior to the administration of the treatment. This video, which reviews agent administration in the mouse, begins by...

Macroeconomists study the broader economy, analyzing key factors such as inflation, employment, and overall growth. Their work helps businesses, governments, and policymakers understand economic trends and make informed decisions. Rather than predicting a single outcome, they develop multiple scenarios—one where the economy thrives, another where it declines, and a middle-ground outcome—to prepare for uncertainty.Their expertise is especially valuable during periods of economic change. For...
