Когнитивное развитие Выготского в культурном контексте

Lev Vygotsky, a Russian psychologist, introduced a theory of cognitive development that emphasizes the critical role of social and cultural influences in learning.

He viewed children as "apprentice thinkers" who develop cognitive skills through interactions with more knowledgeable individuals, such as parents and teachers.

These interactions act as scaffolding, offering support just beyond the child's current abilities and gradually being withdrawn as the child becomes more competent.

For example, a parent might help a child solve a puzzle by giving hints and gradually stepping back as the child learns to complete it independently.

This process enables children to develop higher cognitive abilities.

Vygotsky introduced the concept of the zone of proximal development, the stage at which a child is ready to learn a new skill but hasn't yet achieved mastery.

As they acquire new skills, children gradually move toward independent functioning, initially needing guidance but eventually managing tasks independently.

Further, Vygotsky argued that each child progresses at an individual pace, without universal stages of development.
