Automated Workflow

Automated workflow is a structured sequence of tasks executed by software, instruments, or both with limited manual intervention, improving consistency and throughput in research and production. In bioengineering, it links operations such as sample preparation, liquid handling, measurement, and data recording through predefined protocols, triggers, and data transfer between systems. These workflows can standardize experiments, reduce handling errors, and support reproducible processing of biological samples. Applications include high-throughput screening, cell and tissue engineering, biomanufacturing, and analytical testing, where automation helps researchers compare conditions efficiently and scale validated processes while retaining traceable experimental records.
