Lcr Meter

An LCR meter is an electronic test instrument that measures inductance, capacitance, and resistance, helping engineers characterize passive components and verify circuit performance. It applies a known alternating-current signal to a component, measures the resulting voltage and current, and calculates impedance, phase response, and the selected component value at a specified frequency. Engineers use LCR meters to evaluate capacitors, inductors, resistors, and assembled circuits, including their behavior under different test conditions. These measurements support component selection, manufacturing quality control, troubleshooting, calibration, and the design of filters, power systems, sensors, and other electronic equipment.

Source: Laboratory of Dr. Zhongqi He - United States Department of Agriculture Acids and bases are substances capable of donating protons (H+) and hydroxide ions (OH-), respectively. They are two extremes that describe chemicals. Mixing acids and bases can cancel out or neutralize their extreme effects. A substance that is neither acidic nor basic is neutral. The values of proton concentration ([H+]) for most solutions are inconveniently small and difficult to compare so that a more practical...

2025

Here, we experimentally compare singly curved and straight piezoelectric transducers embedded in reinforced concrete structures for energy harvesting and structural health monitoring by evaluating their open-circuit voltage, power generation, power storage, and damage detection capability. Curved transducers have surpassed the straight ones, offering better performance for real-world applications.

Source: Ali Bazzi, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. The objective of this experiment is to achieve hands-on experience with different magnetic components from design and material perspectives. This experiment covers B-H curves of magnetic material and inductor design through identifying unknown design factors. The B-H curve of a magnetic element, such as an inductor or transformer, is a characteristic of the magnetic material forming the core around...
