Base Station Construction

Base station construction is the planning, engineering, and installation of wireless communication sites that connect mobile devices to a broader network. It combines site selection, structural support, antennas, radio equipment, electrical systems, and backhaul links so signals can be transmitted, received, and routed reliably under defined coverage and capacity requirements. In medicine, well-designed base stations help sustain communication among hospitals, emergency services, clinicians, and patients, including telemedicine, mobile health monitoring, and coordination during disasters. Their performance and resilience can therefore influence access to care, especially in rural or infrastructure-limited settings.

2023

Robert M. Rioux, Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) mandates that an emergency eyewash and shower station be easily accessible in all workplaces in which a person could be exposed to injurious and/or corrosive substances. Emergency eyewash and shower stations should be used in the case of a laboratory or workplace accident that involves the spilling of a harmful, possibly corrosive chemical onto the body or the splashing...

This model system starts from a myofibroblast-populated fibrin gel that can be used to study endogenous collagen (re)organization real-time in a nondestructive manner. The model system is very tunable, as it can be used with different cell sources, medium additives, and can be adapted easily to specific needs.
