Computer-assisted Diagnosis

Computer-assisted diagnosis is a clinical decision-support approach that uses computational methods to help identify diseases, abnormalities, or risk patterns from patient data while supporting rather than replacing professional judgment. In neuroscience, software can process neuroimaging, electrophysiological recordings, and other clinical measurements by extracting features, comparing them with reference patterns, and applying statistical or machine-learning models to estimate diagnostic likelihood. These systems can assist with detecting and classifying neurological disorders, standardizing interpretation, and prioritizing cases for further review. Their value depends on representative training data, rigorous validation, and careful integration with clinical expertise to reduce errors and improve timely, reproducible assessment.

Nursing Diagnosis

2023

Following assessment, a nursing diagnosis is the next step in the nursing process. It begins after the nurse has collected and recorded the patient data. The purpose of diagnosing is to identify how the client responds to actual or potential health processes, identify factors that bestow or that cause health problems, the etiologies, and identify resources or strengths the individual, group, or community can draw on to prevent or resolve problems. The nursing diagnosis focuses on evidence-based...
